Jim Harbaugh gave players shirts with scores of Michigan’s 2018 losses on them

Harbaugh isn’t letting his players forget Michigan’s darkest days last season

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh gave his team some gifts this week.

He gave his players t-shirts that reminded them of their losses in 2018.

“Coach Harbaugh gave us some shirts the other day with ‘Co-B1G East Champs on the front, and then all the scores with the games we lost on the back,” tight end Sean McKeon said. “So I took that shirt and hung it up in the tight end room with the scores, just as a reminder how the season ended, we don’t want to do that again obviously.”

The losses:

24-17 to Notre Dame

62-39 to Ohio State

41-15 to Florida

Make what you will about the shirts, but it’s clear Harbaugh is making it clear that the losses Michigan endured last season are not acceptable, and that being a Co-B1G East Champion doesn’t mean much if you don’t get the job done against your rivals to put you in position to make the College Football Playoffs and Big Ten Championship Game.

Michigan fans won’t forget the loss to Ohio State any time soon, and Harbaugh isn’t allowing his team to forget about it either. If a shirt like that doesn’t piss a player off and motivate them to improve, I’m not sure what will. An interesting motivational tactic by Harbaugh to say the least.
