Thought by many colleges to be an undersized linebacker during his days at Flanagan High in Florida, the 5-foot-11, 233-pounder racked up 172 tackles, 18.5 TFLs and 10 sacks in his 3-year career.
After his injury in the Ohio State game, he decided to forgo his senior season, miss the Peach Bowl and declare for the draft. He torched the competition at the Combine, posting a 4.43 in the 40-yard dash and a 40.5-inch vertical among his other scores.
Even before the Combine, ESPN’s Mel Kiper saw him as a first-rounder (potentially going to the Steelers). Afterward, he has shot up to a potential top-15 or even top-10 selection.
The NFL Draft starts Thursday, April 25 at 8 p.m. EST on NFL Network, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Deportes and ABC.
