Urban Meyer left Ohio State after seven years without a blemish against Michigan, won a National Championship and three Big Ten titles. He has now moved on to be a Fox Sports analyst, for now.

Jim Harbaugh and Meyer provided some exciting matchups over the last few years, and now we are getting a glimpse into the relationship between the two.

Meyer recently spoke with Colin Cowherd on FS1’s “The Herd” where he was asked about Harbaugh.

“He’s a very genuine person,” Meyer said. “I know his father from back in the days when he coached at Western Kentucky and I actually know his brother very well from when he was with the Eagles. So we get along fine, we just don’t spend much time together because we’re very busy.”

He was asked about the rivalry between the two schools, which some call the best rivalry in sports.

“The rivalry is real and there’s dislike there, but the one thing I’ve always said and can guarantee at Ohio State there is always going to be respect for all those people and that rivalry, there can be no greater respect,” Meyer said.

I understand there are some that fit his perspective, but fans brag and fight year round, that’s just part of this rivalry and always will.

This rivalry now shifts to the era of new head coach Ryan Day versus Harbaugh when they meet in November at the Big House.
