You would not normally expect to see one of the best play-makers on a team on a list of underrated players, but that is exactly what Michigan is getting here.

Brad Crawford from 247Sports released his list 10 most underrated players for 2019 and Michigan junior wide receiver Nico Collins made it on the list.

Here is Crawford’s explanation:

“Ask anyone to preview the Michigan offense this season and the first two names to surface are Shea Patterson and Donovan Peoples-Jones, two all-Big Ten candidates at quarterback and wide receiver. Collins deserves the same level of respect after averaging 16.6 yards per reception last fall with six touchdowns. He’s dynamic with the ball in his hands and can be a 1,000-yard, double-digit touchdown guy with more targets. The arrival of first-year OC Josh Gattis — the former wideout coach at Alabama — means Michigan’s talent on the outside will be a full display and a major part of the game plan. Expect Collins to flourish as the No. 2, perhaps even top option, for the Wolverines.”

It is interesting Collins even made this list, considering he played in all 13 games and led the team in receiving yards as a sophomore in 2018 with 632 yards. He also compiled 38 receptions and scored six touchdowns.

Great things are ahead for the entire Wolverine receiving corps in 2019, and Collins could definitely be the guy to lead the pack.
