Three Michigan Wolverines earned national recognition from Sports Illustrated on their top 100 College Football Players list — including Viper Khaleke Hudson, cornerback Lavert Hill and quarterback Shea Patterson.

The top ranked Wolverine is Hudson at No. 40. That would make him the No. 7 overall player in the Big Ten. Hudson had a fantastic sophomore season with 77 tackles, 16 for loss, 7.5 sacks, 2 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles and 9 passes defended.
He did not replicate those numbers in 2018. He had nearly half as many tackles with 39 and only one sack last season. If he can return to the standard he set in 2017, this Michigan defense will be even more elite.
Next up is Hill coming in at No. 67. The senior allowed only 9 receptions last season on 24 attempts. He is the definition of a lockdown corner and is the perfect mold for Don Brown’s defensive style.
The theme of senior Wolverines continues with Patterson rounding out the bunch at No. 90. He is the No. 12 quarterback on the list, three spots behind Ohio State’s Justin Fields.
Patterson had 2,600 yards on a 64.6 completion percentage last season. He will look to thrive under Josh Gattis’ new spread offense in 2019, and have more prolific stats in the process. The veteran will also have one of the best receiving corps in the country to help him out.
