On Monday morning, Khaleke Hudson and Josh Uche were named to the Dick Butkus Award Watch List, and now on Monday afternoon two more Michigan defenders have made a watch list.
Cornerback Lavert Hill and safety Josh Metellus have been named to the Jim Thorpe Award Watch List.

Lavert played in a secondary that finished the season ranked 2nd in the nation in pass defense while U-M defenders totaled 11 interceptions to just 14 passing touchdowns allowed. #GoBlue 〽️ pic.twitter.com/IJWwg9u55I
Hill’s play in 2018 led to him being a unanimous All Big Ten first-team selection, being a Jim Thorpe Award semifinalist, and being selected as a associated press All-American (third-team).

Metellus record 48 tackles (29 solo) in 2018 while also hauling in 3 interceptions. Metellus play earned him associated press All Big Ten first-team honors.
