The closer we get to August the more preseason polls are released. This one seems more reasonable giving Michigan another top 10 spot, but outside of the top five, according to CBS Sports.
Their top 10 preseason poll:
- Clemson
- Alabama
- Oklahoma
- Georgia
- Ohio State
- LSU
- Michigan
- Florida
- Texas
- Notre Dame
The full top 25 preseason poll will be released Aug. 6.
This is one heck of a list with most powerhouse brands, and it’s likely a few will end up way out of the top 10 at the end of the season. Many think Michigan is overrated and shouldn’t be in the top 10 yet, likely because of the last two games last season. Others may argue the defense could take a step back with players like Devin Bush, Rashan Gary and Chase Winovich moving on to the NFL.
I think the Wolverines are a top 10 team and will make the College Football Playoff, as I explained in detail here. They are not a top five team in the preseason, but will have many opportunities to prove they deserve in Indianapolis and the College Football Playoff.
A couple more days until August when fall camp and practices get underway.
