We’re moving this piece to Saturdays. Maybe it’s because that is the logical place for it. Maybe because I’m burying it on the weekend because I’m ashamed of how poorly it’s going for me.
It’s a lighter week because a few teams are off and conference play is getting going.
Last week’s record: 2-8
Season overall: 17-19
I am not a betting man, clearly. But if I were, here’s what my dumb brain rolls with on Saturday in Week 4.
Michigan State (-8.5) at Northwestern, O/U: 36
I’m not sure either of these teams will score enough points for MSU to ever get out to an eight-point lead at all.
Pick: Northwestern (+8.5)
UConn at Indiana (-27.5), O/U: 56.5
Indiana came out of last week with its tail between its legs after a beatdown of Ohio State. They will do something similar to one of the worst programs in the FBS.
Pick: Indiana (-27.5)
Boston College (-8) at Rutgers, O/U: 57.5
This is going to be a putrid football game. I won’t even waste anymore time writing about it.
Pick: Under 57.5
No. 11 Michigan at No. 13 Wisconsin
This one is going to come down to a kick it feels like. If Michigan does not straight up steal one in Madison, they will find a way to at least get their hearts broken late.
Pick: Michigan (+3.5)
Miami (OH) at No. 6 Ohio State (-39), O/U: 56.5
The poor damn Redhawks are going into Columbus against a team firing on all cylinders. This will be another OSU laugher.
Pick: Over 56.5
Nebraska (-13) at Illinois, O/U: 62
Despite a loss to Eastern Michigan, I believe in Brandon Peters. Don’t let me down, Lovie.
Pick: Illinois (+13)
You know the drill. Sound off with your picks in the comments below.
