Michigan football is back in action this coming weekend when they return home to take on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights this weekend, which generally speaking is a good slump buster for any Big Ten team.

Oddsmakers agree, as the Wolverines opened as a 29-point favorite over Rutgers with the over/under set at 48.5 points, according to Vegas Insider. As of this posting, the line has been bet down to 28 points with the over/under set at 48.

Michigan has won handily in each of the first four meetings with Rutgers under Jim Harbaugh with one of them being a blowout of historic proportions.

2015: 49-16 W

2016: 78-0 W

2017: 35-14 W

2018: 42-7 W

The only loss to Rutgers came in 2014 under head coach Brady Hoke, which was a 26-24 loss on the road.

The Wolverines come into this game coming off of an embarrassing loss to Wisconsin on Saturday and two shaky wins against Middle Tennessee State and Army. Rutgers has been, well, Rutgers after a 48-21 Week 1 win over UMass. They lost at Iowa in Week 2 by a score of 30-0 and came off of a bye last week in lost to Boston College 30-16.

Saturday’s game in Ann Arbor is scheduled for a 12 p.m. kickoff and will be televised via Big Ten Network.
