Michigan without several starters on Saturday, QB decision seemingly in

The Wolverines appear to be moving forward at quarterback.

The Michigan Wolverines are looking to get back in the win column against Rutgers after a rough few weeks to say the least. Once again, it appears they will be doing so a bit shorthanded heading into Saturday night’s game in Piscataway.

According to the pregame broadcast, Michigan will once again be without starting tackles Ryan Hayes and Jalen Mayfield, who will be replaced in the lineup by Karsen Barnhart and Andrew Steuber at tackle. Also out is starting center Andrew Vastardis, who will be replaced by Zach Carpenter. Chuck Filiaga and Zak Zinter will fill out the other two spots in the lineup on the interior.

Defensive end Kwity Paye will also be unavailable for the Wolverines in this game.

Also of note is that Joe Milton was taking first team reps in warmups on Saturday night and appears primed to once again get the start at quarterback. Though, it stands to reason he could have a short leash if things do not go well. Cade McNamara is active and repping with the twos.

Saturday night’s game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET on Big Ten Network.
