The Michigan Wolverines and Ohio State Buckeyes won’t be playing this weekend, snapping the end of a rivalry streak that has been played every season since 1917. Despite the two programs being on the opposite end of the spectrum in terms of talent and what lies ahead of them, it is a bummer that we won’t get to see it play out on the field on Saturday.
There are plenty of fans — and quite frankly, people who cover the games — out there who are happy they will not have to watch what appeared to be lining up as another lopsided affair. But I can’t help feeling sorry for the players who would have been able to suit up, especially the seniors. Regardless of how these seasons play out, guys are drawn to Michigan to play in big games and the one against Ohio State is the biggest of them all. If they could field a healthy team this weekend, they would have if medical cleared them to do so.
It probably would have been ugly, but it is odd to think we won’t see a game between two of the most recognizable brands in college sports clash on Saturday. What are your thoughts on the cancelation of The Game? Vote in our poll and sound off in the comments below.

Bummed out. Even if it was going to be ugly, The Game is a tradition we’re missing out on.

This is ridiculous. They should have found a way to make it work.
