You read the title. You clicked on the article. Now, you’re here to tell me how crazy I am and that we should focus on figuring out this season before we look ahead to next year, if there is even a season, of course.
Cool, we got that out of the way.
Michigan football’s quarterback battle that is set to take place if/when camps open up certainly has a chance to have longer-term effects on the program than a typical battle does. Whoever wins the job this year between Dylan McCaffrey (two years of eligibility remaining), Joe Milton (three years), and Cade McNamara (four years) might just wind up being a multi-year starter at Michigan with the potential that someone winds up transferring. It is a storyline we have discussed ad nauseam to this point and will continue to when we find out if there will be college football this fall.
Whether they do play this fall or not, the Wolverines bring in a five-star quarterback in J.J. McCarthy ahead of the 2021 season, which adds even more depth and another talented passer into the room. Some people believe he may be college-ready right out of the box, but he still may have to wait for his turn unless he grabs it from the jump.
So because it’s a Thursday in late July and we are still looking to have a conversation, who do you think will be the quarterback in 2021? You can vote in the poll below or sound off in the comments below.
