Even with the Big Ten not playing a fall 2020 season, Michigan was ranked among the top teams in college football when the AP Top 25 poll was released on Monday.
Michigan sits at No. 16 in the poll.

This will be the last time Michigan’s football team will be ranked in the AP Top 25 poll this fall, as teams not playing a fall season won’t be included once the season starts. No. 16 isn’t a bad spot considering whoever was named starting quarterback would be in their first season with that title. It’s bittersweet seeing Michigan on the list knowing there won’t be a season for them, but it also shows how people felt about the team heading into the season.
In all, six Big Ten teams and nine PAC-12 teams made the list, which represents a sizable portion of the top 25 that won’t be playing football this fall.
