Michigan Wolverines commit Donovan Edwards is having a fairytale senior season at West Bloomfield in Michigan. Last week he carried his team to a state championship with 257 yards on 14 attempts (11.2 yards per carry!) in a 41-0 blowout of Davison.

On Wednesday, Edwards was given a 5-star ranking by 247sports and is now the No. 32 player and No. 2 running back in the country by their metrics.
Then, earlier this week, his high school coach Ron Bellamy was hired by the Michigan Wolverines as their new wide receiver’s coach, keeping the two together for the next few seasons (even if it is a different position group).
Now, on Friday the story continued as the highly talented senior was named Michigan High School’s Mr. Football by State Champs, a local sports media network.

In 9 games this season, Edwards scored 20 touchdowns and had 1,021 rushing yards and 153 receiving yards. He was selected to play in the Under Armour All-American Game, the Adidas All-American Game, the Polynesian Bowl, and the Hall of Fame World Bowl.
Now, he is an early-enrollee at Michigan and will be expected to crack into the rotation with Hassan Haskins and Blake Corum in what will surely be one of the most competitive position groups in Ann Arbor. It’s going to be a great problem to have for new running back’s coach Mike Hart in his first season with the Wolverines.
Take a look back at some of Edwards’ most impressive plays from his historic season:
