Michigan heads into a well earned bye week after starting the season 6-0 and winning back-to-back road games against Wisconsin and Nebraska. The undefeated stretch has Michigan rising in the rankings yet again.
- Michigan moves up from No. 8 to No. 7 in the USA Today Coaches Poll, jumping over now No. 8 Penn State who lost to Iowa on Sautrday.
- Michigan moves up from No. 9 to No. 8 in the AP Top 25
Other Big Ten teams ranked in the AP Top 25 include No. 2 Iowa, No. 6 Ohio State, No. 7. Penn State, and No. 10 Michigan State.
Michigan’s next game will be at Michigan Stadium on Oct. 23 against a scuffling Northwestern team that’s just 2-3 on the year and lost 56-7 to Nebraska a week ago. While no team should be overlooked, Michigan fans are undoubtedly looking ahead themselves to a huge game on the road against undefeated Michigan State at the end of the month. That’s when we will truly start to see who is who.
For now, however, Jim Harbaugh and Michigan are happy how they’ve started the year, how they escaped Nebraska with a 32-29 win. “That was a Clint Eastwood win,” Harbaugh said. “We’re gonna enjoy it.”
