No. 9 Michigan (5-0) handily beat Wisconsin last week 38-17 and now have a consecutive road game against Nebraska (3-3) on Saturday night.
The vibe surrounding the program is positive right now if you talk to Michigan fans, which we did. Via SB Nation’s Reacts survey, Maize n Brew polled Michigan fans earlier this week after the Wisconsin game — the results indicate more confidence for Michigan’s offense, along with trust in starting quarterback Cade McNamara, and backup J.J. McCarthy.
A majority of Michigan fans believe Cade McNamara will be the starting quarterback against Ohio State, the last game of the regular season. McNamara has yet to take a sack or turn the ball over, throwing for 731 yards and 5 touchdowns through five games.
Fans want to see more of J.J. McCarthy after playing well once again last week. McCarthy had a QB sneak touchdown versus Wisconsin and a 56-yard touchdown pass to Daylen Baldwin. McCarthy will likely continue seeing the field, head coach Jim Harbaugh said that Michigan tries “to get him in there as much as we can — that’s the thinking.”
Michigan fans were happy to see Michigan’s offense have success on the road at a place they haven’t been victorious since 2001. Michigan’s offense had a balanced approach against Wisconsin and had success through the air with three passing touchdowns on the day.
