Michigan Wolverines linebacker Adam Shibley has entered the transfer portal according to multiple reports. This decision comes just days after Ben VanSumeren also put his name in the portal.

Now, the only two players with lengthy playing experience remaining at the position are Josh Ross and Michael Barrett, as Cam McGrone decided to enter the NFL Draft.

Shibley was a walk-on who earned a scholarship in his time in Ann Arbor. He will be remembered fondly for when he took over for McGrone after being injured against Michigan State. Shibley recorded seven tackles and a tackle for loss as the Wolverines fell to the Spartans. He played in all six games in 2020 and made his first career start in the loss to Penn State, the Wolverines final game of the season.

The linebacker room now becomes a little thinner in Shibley’s absence, as there is no middle linebacker on the team that has seen significant playing time heading into 2021. Shibley will be an ascending graduate transfer for another program in 2021. He becomes the ninth player to transfer from Michigan since the season’s end.
