WATCH: Freshman Feature Episode 5 - Giovanni El-Hadi

Breaking down the stats, metrics, scouting, projection and more for the true freshman lineman.

Sometimes it’s nice to have a recruit you don’t hear about too often. Sometimes recruits like to lean into the recruiting attention, build some buzz and drive the speculation and narrative a bit. Others commit early and go radio silent, enrolling early and battling for early playing time without so much as a word. Giovanni El-Hadi is definitely the latter of these two types of recruits.

To be honest, I forgot he was a member of the 2021 class for the Michigan Wolverines until pulling up the list again in preparation for these videos. El-Hadi was the first commit of the class back in the summer of 2019 and never wavered from there. Michigan was his last offer and two days later, El-Hadi was done with the recruiting process and committed right away.

At 6-foot-5 and around 300 pounds already, there’s a chance we see El-Hadi earlier than most offensive linemen. With an extremely impressive 4.44 shuttle time and showcasing great athleticism in pass protection, it seems he’s a shoe-in for a future offensive tackle position for the Wolverines. How soon? Check out the video for my full projection and analysis of the freshman lineman.
