ESPN and the Big Ten Conference announced on Tuesday that Washington at Michigan will be a primtetime affair on ABC on September 11.

The game will have a 7:30 E.T. start, and will mark the first time the teams have faced one another since 2002. Michigan holds a 7-5 advantage in the series, but the two teams are 2-2 against each other in the Rose Bowl.

Michigan was supposed to play at Washington to start the 2020 season off, but the season was ‘cancelled’, and then once it restarted the Big Ten opted for a conference-only schedule.

Washington went 3-1 in a truncated PAC-12 2020 season that featured two games cancelled. Michigan finished the 2020 season 2-4 with its last two games three games cancelled due to COVID-19 positive cases within the program.

Michigan starts its 2021 season a week before they take on Washington on September 4 at The Big House vs. Western Michigan. Washington will take on Montana Week 1 before heading to Ann Arbor.
