WATCH: Talkin’ Transfers Episode 2 - Jordan Whittley

Breaking down the film, stats, recruitment and everything else you need to know about the transfer defensive tackle.

Take a trip down memory lane back to the class of 2014. The Michigan Wolverines secured the commitment of five-star Jabrill Peppers and was still under head coach Brady Hoke. In that same class, there was a two-star 6-foot-2, 225-pound running back/athlete out of the state of California named Jordan Whittley. Fast forward seven years, and Whittley has gone through about as much as a collegiate athlete could: a transfer to a JUCO, an ACL injury, a major position change, another transfer, a heart tumor, a global pandemic and one additional transfer.

Whittley now weighs in around 350 pounds and provides some much-needed depth to the nose tackle position. The Oregon State transfer brings quick feet, violent hands and shocking agility to the position, reminiscent of the skillset he brought as a running back before putting on significant weight. Now, health and weight-management are going to drastically determine how much he sees the field in the maize and blue, but if things work out, he will be an integral part of the 2021 defense.
