While Donovan Edwards is a five-star running back according to 247Sports, the running back position landed as number 1 on my list of best position groups for the Michigan Wolverines headed into this season. J.J. McCarthy finds himself in a similar position, bringing a ton of talent to the room but still behind some experience with Cade McNamara leading the position. Without giving away the complete list, the defensive line, linebacker, and specialist groups allow some room for freshmen to step up immediately.
