After a Week 1 shellacking of Western Michigan at the Big House, the Michigan Wolverines now welcome in the Washington Huskies in what was supposed to be a big game. Now, it’s a huge game.
It’s huge because if Michigan loses, it loses to a team who just lost at home to an FCS football program. At least that’s what the narrative would be.
This game isn’t important for College Football Playoff purposes by any means. Hell, it isn’t even important for trying to get to Indianapolis in December. But it could be a tone-setter for the rest of the year. It is an important game. A very important game. If the Wolverines lose to a team who dropped their home opener to Montana, how would the reception of that loss be in the locker room? In a year that is so important for the staff’s future, that may be the most important thing moving forward.

Today’s question: Who steps up today in place of the injured Ronnie Bell? We saw a few nice plays out of Roman Wilson and A.J. Henning last weekend, but both those plays were on the ground. Can those youngsters step in and become a bigger part of the offense? Or will veterans like Cornelius Johnson and Mike Sainristil rise to the occasion?
