Michigan football moves into both polls after win over Washington

The Wolverines have snuck into the top 25.

The Michigan Wolverines made their first appearance in both the Coaches and AP Polls on Sunday, making their 2021 debut at No. 25 in each. This comes on the heels of the team’s 31-10 drubbing of the Washington Huskies on Saturday night in Ann Arbor.

Michigan is one of five Big Ten teams that appear in this week’s AP Poll, which is now headlined by the Iowa Hawkeyes at No. 5. Ohio State slid to No. 9 after losing to Oregon on Saturday. Penn State (No. 10) and Wisconsin (No. 18) are the other two Big Ten squads represented here.

Next up for Michigan is another MAC opponent in the Northern Illinois Huskies, who are led by former Michigan State quarterback Rocky Lombardi. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. ET on Saturday in Ann Arbor.
