On Saturday, Michigan prevailed and improved to 4-0 on the season despite one of the ugliest halves in recent memory. The Wolverines looked downright abysmal in the second half but did just enough to hang on to the win. All eyes now turn to next week to see if Michigan can fix the issues on offense and solidify the defense.
The Wolverines travel to Madison, Wisconsin, to take on a Badger team coming off a brutal loss to Notre Dame. Off to a disappointing start to the season, Wisconsin is 1-2 and looking to get their first statement win of the season. DraftKings opened up the line as a pick’em while FanDuel favors Wisconsin by 1.5 points. Clearly, Vegas believes this will be a tight game that comes down to the wire.
The over/under for next week is currently at 44 on DraftKings and 43.5 on Fanduel. By all accounts, this is a very low total compared to the norm in college football. A low-scoring affair could be on the docket next Saturday.
On the money line, Wisconsin is favored at -115 while Michigan is set at -105. Clearly, the game is up in the air. I expect both the over/under and the spread to move quite a bit over the next few days. Wisconsin has disappointed so far this year, but they still have a very talented roster. On the other hand, Michigan is 4-0 but has many, many doubters. We will know much more about both of these football teams after Saturday.
Across the Big Ten, here’s how the initial Vegas lines look on DraftKings:
- Iowa is favored by just 4 points over Maryland
- Purdue is favored by 2.5 points over Minnesota
- Illinois is favored by 9.5 over Charlotte
- Ohio State is favored by 16 over Rutgers
- Penn State is favored by 11 over Indiana
- Michigan State is favored by 8.5 over Western Kentucky
- Nebraska is favored by 10 over Northwestern
As always, please bet responsibly and enjoy every college football Saturday to the fullest!
