Week 3 of the NFL season has come and gone, and it was an incredibly whacky one. From long game-winning field goals to turnovers galore, the NFL kind of gave us a little bit of everything this past weekend. But let’s check in with our former Michigan Wolverines and recap a few of them did on Sunday.
Mike Danna
2 tackles, 1 sacks, 1 TFL, 3 QB hits
The former Wolverine stood out on Kansas City’s defense in a tight 30-24 loss against the Los Angeles Chargers. Danna recorded his first sack of the season against a formidable offensive line. It was the only sack of the day for the Chiefs’ defense.

Danna is starting to become a pretty nice reserve player in Kansas City. Hopefully that solid play on Sunday earns him a bit more playing time. The Chiefs will try to get back in the win column next week when they travel to Philadelphia.
Jabrill Peppers
8 tackles, 2 QB hits, 2 punt returns for 36 yards
The former Heisman Trophy finalist and current Giants’ captain had a real nice game in a close 17-14 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Peppers was the second-leading tackler on the team with eight tackles, all while forcing pressure on the quarterback twice. He also returned a couple punts for 36 yards with a long of 19.
Peppers hasn’t been phenomenal on defense since being drafted in 2017, but he’s an elite special teams player and a guy you want in your locker room. He’s having himself a nice start to the season with the Giants. We’ll see if he can keep it up next weekend when they travel to play the New Orleans Saints.
Tom Brady
41-of-55 passing, 432 yards, 1 TD, 3 rushes, 14 yards, 1 TD
It’s time for our weekly update on the GOAT.
Brady did all he could to keep his team in it — passing for more than 400 yards and totaling two touchdowns — but the Buccaneers dropped their first game of the season to Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams.
It never really seemed like it was too close of a game, as Stafford connected with Cooper Kupp twice, DeSean Jackson and Tyler Higbee on his four touchdown passes. But Brady just couldn’t lead a comeback this time around. He will try to get back to his usual winning ways next Sunday night when he and the Bucs travel to Brady’s old home — Gillette Stadium in New England.
