ESPN Monday Night Football analyst Louis Riddick was amped at all the games lined up throughout the college football landscape on Saturday. One of the games Riddick checked out was Michigan’s 47-14 win over Western Michigan.
Riddick is an astute evaluator of collegiate talent, something that becomes obvious each year during NFL Draft coverage — and Riddick liked what he was seeing from Michigan’s running game.
These @UMichFootball RB’s are RUNNING THAT THANG!!!!

Michigan rushed for 334 yards and 3 scores — Blake Corum rushed for 111 (1 TD), Hassan Haskins for 70 (1 TD), A.J. Henning’s lone attempt was a 74-yard TD, Roman Wilson’s only rush went for 43. Others like Donovan Edwards and Dan Villari contributed to the rushing total as well.
Riddick gave a couple shoutouts to Corum.
This man is fun to watch…

“Yo... Blake Corum. This young man is an issue!!!,” Riddick posted on Twitter. Later saying “this man is fun to watch.”
Corum was an issue for Western Michigan’s defense. Corum bulked up in the off-season and no longer has to rely solely on his speed. Corum was picking up yards after contact on some plays, and making defenders miss on others with quick cuts and jukes that led to sizable gains.
Have a day, @blake_corum!

Corum said after the game that a point of emphasis this off-season was to have more patience as a runner, and wait for lanes and holes to develop. Yes, it’s just one game into the season, but it’s clear Corum has a lot of potential. Corum can be used in a lot of ways in the running game, but that’s not all he has to offer — Corum is versatile and excels as a receiving option, too. If offensive coordinator Josh Gattis commits to using running backs more as pass catchers, Corum may be in line to have a very busy and highly productive 2021 campaign.
This isn’t the last we’ll hear Louis Riddick mention Blake Corum, because Corum’s just getting warmed up.
