The College Football Playoff committee released their first rankings for the 2021 season tonight and to no one’s surprise, the Georgia Bulldogs are No. 1. They were followed by No. 2 Alabama, No. 3 Michigan State and No. 4 Oregon.

Ohio State and Cincinnati are ranked No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.

Michigan is ranked No. 7, two spots above where they are ranked in the AP poll.

The Big Ten had a strong showing with six teams ranked in the top 25 and three teams in close contention for the Playoff. As a whole, the Big Ten teams were ranked as followed:

No. 3 Michigan State

No. 5 Ohio State

No. 7 Michigan

No. 20 Minnesota

No. 21 Wisconsin

No. 22 Iowa

Including conference championships, five more weeks of football remain. Let the chaos begin.
