Four-star 2015 linebacker Asmar Bilal (Indianapolis, Indiana) plans on committing to Notre Dame sometime today, according to 247's Steve Wiltfong citing comments from Ben Davis HS head coach Mike Kirschner.
Bilal is waiting to get into contact with Irish head coach Brian Kelly later on to make the commitment official, per Kirschner.
Michigan appeared to be neck and neck with the Irish throughout the majority of the process and it looked at one point as if he was ready to pull the trigger on the Wolverines back in mid-August, but he decided to push his decision back and is now the 20th member of ND's recruiting class.
The Wolverines were hoping to pair the nation's third ranked inside linebacker with another Indianapolis product, 2015 prospect Darrin Kirkland Jr., who remains the lone player committed at the position for Michigan in this class.
If Michigan is still looking to add linebackers to their 2015 class, their high-profile options are limited with Bilal going elsewhere and Osa Masina (Salt Lake City, UT) dropping them from his list of top schools.
