Let me just preface this roundup with this, that many of my fellow staff writers would probably agree with:
I enjoyed the bye week. The recharging of the batteries was much needed. It's Michigan State week, so let's get to it.
It was a busy weekend for Donnie Corley
In one of last week's roundups, we covered 2016 wide receiver Donnie Corley (Wyandotte, Michigan) and his offer from the Michigan Wolverines, which was long overdue, but it did not end there for the four-star prospect this weekend.
Corley also picked up offers from Wisconsin and LSU in the last few days as well. He is a definite rising prospect and has established himself as one of the top players in the state of Michigan in this class.
Michigan State looks like the leader in the clubhouse for Corley as of today and if I had to make a prediction, that's where it would be. He will be in East Lansing this weekend for the U-M/MSU match-up at Spartan Stadium and is also planning on visiting MSU in early November.
I would have liked Michigan's chances a bit more if they had offered sooner, but that does not seem like it would have made much of a difference. There is no timetable known for a decision at this point, so we will see what happens.
Garrett Taylor update
Four-star 2015 defensive back Garrett Taylor (Richmond, Virginia) has been a commit who has not been shy about saying that he is concerned with what has gone on at Michigan this year and the status of coach Brady Hoke.
Over the weekend, cornerbacks coach Roy Manning visited with Taylor, which he recounted to Steve Lorenz of 247 Sports. ($)
"I was more just listening to hear what he had to say," Taylor noted. "I know it's tough for Michigan right now. I just hope they can turn things around. I'm still hesitant about Coach Hoke's situation. I want to be part of a program that has a culture of winning and knows what it takes to go out there each Saturday and do what it takes physically and execution-wise to win. I feel like Michigan has lost that a little. I'm still committed right now though, and I am pretty confident I will take an official visit this winter."
Taylor tore his ACL earlier this season and is currently sidelined for the year. He has official visits scheduled to Ohio State and Penn State, as of today.
Grant Perry visited by U-M coaches
Three-star 2015 wide receiver Grant Perry (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan) was visited by a pair of Michigan coaches on Friday, according to his Twitter account.
Good talking with coach Hoke and coach Nuss!

Perry is an in-state player to watch going forward. He is a high school teammate of quarterback commit Alex Malzone and has enjoyed a huge senior season in which Brother Rice HS is looking to run the table and win another state championship. He has 68 catches for 1158 yards and 11 touchdowns on the year so far.
This is another player that I think could be offered soon and if that happens, the chances of him being a part of this class are pretty high. He has received a lot of interest from MAC schools and lower-tier Big Ten programs, so an offer from Michigan would be significant.
That's it for the Monday roundup. Check back in with us Wednesday for the latest in Michigan football recruiting news.
