Another announcement, another decision post. What a day it has been.
With National Signing Day 2015 wrapping up, athlete prospect Tyrone Wheatley Jr. (Manlius, New York) announced his college decision today, choosing Michigan over UCLA.
He took official visits to Alabama, Michigan, USC, UCLA and Oregon throughout the process.
Wheatley is a four-star prospect and the 12th ranked tight end in the class of 2015, according to the 247 Composite. With that being said, he has been recruited by many schools as a defensive end, including UCLA, and there is also the possibility he could put on weight and slide over to the offensive line.
Wheatley was considered a lean to Michigan throughout the process, even before Jim Harbaugh and his father, Tyrone Wheatley Sr., was hired to coach the running backs. He is a big, physical and athletic prospect who's skills should translate well at the next level with whatever position he ends up at.
Wheatley is Michigan's 14th commit of the 2015 class.
