Quick Analysis: Kingston Davis to Michigan

Taking a look at what the three-star 2016 running back brings to the Wolverines.

Michigan picked up a commitment from 2016 running back Kingston Davis (Prattville, Alabama), who is teammates with 2015 signee Keith Washington, on Monday morning.

The Wolverines have plucked a really good prospect right out of SEC country.

Davis is a three-star prospect and currently ranked as the third-best fullback in the 2016 class, but Michigan is recruiting him to play running back. His film would suggest that is a wise move.

At 6-foot-1, 225 pounds, Davis is a big, powerful runner that is deceptively fast given his size. He is a very good mixture of power, size and speed. He is shifty, changes direction with ease and has excellent vision.

Michigan is looking for running backs that have the above traits and Davis fits that mold extremely well.

While Michigan has recruited him at tailback, I would not completely rule out seeing him at fullback in some capacity. He has the ability to play either and there are some aspects to his game that would suggest he could have a similar impact to what BJ Askew did while at Michigan.

Davis has the skill set to be a lead back for the Wolverines in time. We will see if they choose to add another running back in their 2016 class.
