Michigan received its 11th commitment of the 2016 class on Friday afternoon in the form of 2016 defensive back Antwaine Richardson (Delray Beach, Florida).
Richardson, a teammate of 2015 defensive end signee Shelton Johnson, is a three-star prospect and the 88th-ranked cornerback in the 2016 class, per the 247 Composite. He was in attendance at the satellite camp stop in Miami, Florida.
He is the first defensive back that has committed to Michigan's 2016 haul so far.
Richardson has good size at 6-foot and room to add to his 165 pound frame. He is extremely athletic and his skill set gives him a chance to win jump balls against taller and more talented receivers.
He looks like he plays pretty physical and should be solid in press coverage, which is something that Michigan is looking to add in its secondary moving forward. Richardson still has quite a bit of room to grow as a player, but appears to be a good corner prospect.
