Quick Analysis: What 2016 Cornerback Sir Patrick Scott Brings To Michigan

Taking a look at what the three-star corner can do on the field.

Michigan received its most recent commitment on Sunday afternoon in the form of cornerback Sir Patrick Scott (Upper Marlboro, Maryland), who was on campus for the BBQ at the Big House event.

Scott is a three-star prospect and the 58th-ranked cornerback in the class of 2016, per the 247 Composite.

What immediately stands out about Scott is his length. He stands at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds and definitely has room to pack on muscle to his wiry frame.

Scott looks comfortable in both man and zone coverage schemes and has the ability to keep up with the best that wide receivers throw at him.

Michigan has been looking for bigger, physical corners that can hold up in press coverage, which makes Scott a very good fit in DJ Durkin's defense. He is good at using the sideline as an extra defender. In terms of his tackling, he could use a bit of work there.

Scott also could end up being a safety before it is all said and done.

If he is able to get stronger and faster, he should be a solid contributor to the secondary rotation in time.
