Class of 2016 defensive back Sir Patrick Scott (Upper Marlboro, Maryland) has decommitted from the University of Michigan, he tweeted on Wednesday afternoon.
I'd like to announce an update on my recruitment. pic.twitter.com/QyFiLnENmD

Scott, who committed to the Wolverines on Aug. 2, is a three-star prospect and the 56th-ranked cornerback in the class, according to the 247 Composite.
With Michigan needing every possible spot open with many of its top recruiting targets still on the board, more attrition was likely -- both on the recruiting trail and the current roster.
Scott's commitment was a surprise to some when it happened because it remained unclear if the staff saw him as a take in this class or not, especially with other targets still out there. With four-stars David Long and Lavert Hill looking like legitimate possibilities to join before signing day on Feb. 3, this move looked inevitable.
We'll have more on this story and the fallout as it becomes available.
