Class of 2016 linebacker Dontavious Jackson (Houston, Texas) named his final five schools on Monday afternoon, where the Michigan Wolverines made the cut along with Alabama, Florida State, Florida and Texas.

Jackson took to Twitter to announce his trimmed list and that he will be making his college decision on National Signing Day (Feb. 3) live on ESPNU.

Jackson is a four-star prospect and the sixth-ranked inside linebacker in the 2016 class, according to the 247 Composite. Michigan defensive line coach Greg Mattison has been recruiting him and he visited last week following the conclusion of the dead period.

In terms of Michigan's chances here, they definitely appear to have some ground to cover in the next few weeks. Texas appears to be in the best shape to land him with Florida State not too far behind.

Jackson is shutting down interviews and media contact, so information will likely be sparse heading into this decision.
