Michigan hosted 2016 defensive tackle Michael Dwumfour (DePaul Catholic, NJ) for an official visit over the weekend, and the Penn State commit sounds like he enjoyed it much.

Dwumfour is a three-star prospect and the 59th-ranked defensive tackle in the 2016 class, according to the 247 Composite.

Maize n Brew caught up with Dwumfour following his visit to discuss his takeaways from Ann Arbor.

"Almost everything (stood out)," he said. "The coaches, the academics, and all of that stood out to my family and I."

Dwumfour said how surprised he was with the feeling Michigan Stadium, Ann Arbor and the staff gave him and his family.

"I love the staff," he said. "I was surprised with how they treated my family. I felt at home with the staff."

Rashan Gary (Paramus Catholic, NJ) is the unanimous number-one prospect in this year's class. Gary not only has a great relationship with current wolverines Jabrill Peppers and Kareem Walker, but also Dwumfour.

"(Walker, Gary and I) are like brothers," he said. "We spoke about (playing together) when we were young, and Kareem brings it up a lot now. It would be great if we could."

Dwumfour was being recruited by new defensive coordinator Don Brown while he worked at Boston College and that is where the offer emerged from.

"That's kind of how it came up," he said. "Coach Brown contacted me the next day after he was hired."

Dwumfour said he watched film with defensive line coach Greg Mattison, and Brown. He likes what they have planned for him if he were to go Michigan.

Dwumfour said he is down to Michigan and Penn State and will make his decision prior to National Signing Day on Feb. 3.
