It looks as if Santa Claus came early for the University of Michigan, as four-star wide receiver Tarik Black announced his commitment to the Wolverines on Wednesday.
The 6-foot-4 Cheshire, Connecticut native is the No. 1 receiver in his state and the No. 17 wide receiver prospect in the country, according to 247sports.com. Crystal ball predictions had Michigan as a heavy 95 percent favorite, with Auburn claiming the remaining five percent.
The remaining Christmas gifts for Jim Harbaugh and Co. are waiting to be opened. Donovan Peoples-Jones, the nation’s top wide receiver recruit, will be making his commitment announcement tomorrow on ESPNU at 8:30 p.m. His final five schools are Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Florida and Florida State.
Five-star offensive tackle Isaiah Wilson is set to announce his commitment on Dec. 16 at 12 p.m., even though his initial announcement was planned for Christmas Day. Schools in the mix are Michigan, Alabama, Florida State and Georgia.
The nation’s top center prospect, four-star Cesar Ruiz, will also be announcing his commitment on Dec. 19.
Michigan will be in need of receivers like Black and Peoples-Jones for next season, as starting wide outs Jehu Chesson and Amara Darboh will be graduating and likely headed to the NFL.
