2017 5-star WR Donovan Peoples-Jones commits to Michigan

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound wide receiver has committed to Michigan over Ohio State, Michigan State, Florida State, and Florida.

Class of 2017 five-star wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones has committed to Michigan.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound athlete is ranked No. 11 in the 2017 class, according to 247Sports. He is the No. 1 wide receiver and the best player in the state of Michigan.

During the 2016 season for Cass Technical High School in Detroit (MI), Peoples-Jones caught 34 passes for 755 yards and 11 touchdowns. He added four interceptions (one touchdown), a fumble recovery for a score, and three punt returns for touchdowns. He also ran the football and threw for a touchdown.

Cass Tech, led by Peoples-Jones, won the 2016 Michigan High School Athletic Association Division I State Championship over Novi Detroit Catholic Central, 49-20.

In the 2015 season, he logged 39 receptions for 1,012 yards and 14 touchdowns on the offense side of the ball.

Peoples-Jones officially visited Nebraksa (Sep. 3), Ohio State (Oct. 8), Florida (Nov. 12), Florida State (Dec. 2), and Michigan (Dec. 10). Ultimately, the five-star picked the Wolverines.

2017 five-star offensive tackle Isaiah Wilson is set to announce his commitment on December 16th at 12:00 PM, even though his initial announcement was planned for Christmas Day. Schools in the mix for Wilson are Michigan, Alabama, Florida State and Georgia. The nation’s top center prospect in the 2017 class, four-star Cesar Ruiz, will announce his commitment on December 19th and Michigan is in the mix.

On Wednesday, the Wolverines picked up a commitment from 2017 four-star wide receiver Tarik Black. The forces of Black and Peoples-Jones will surely help Michigan cope with the losses of Jehu Chesson and Amara Darboh.
