Class of 2016 offensive tackle Alaric Jackson (Detroit, Michigan) has committed to Iowa, he announced on Wednesday morning.
Jackson is a three-star prospect and the 56th-ranked offensive tackle in the class, according to the 247 Composite ranking system. He was originally set to make a decision between Nebraska, Iowa and Iowa State on Monday, but decided to postpone things until today.
The Michigan offer earlier this week may have provided Jackson with something to think about, but it appears that it did not change much and that he may have not been a take anyways.
The Wolverines were looking for the extra help on the offensive line with the surprise decommitment of four-star prospect Devery Hamilton over the weekend and his flip to the Stanford Cardinal.
Michigan still has three other players committed on the offensive line in four-stars Ben Bredeson and Michael Onwenu and three-star Stephen Spanellis.
Expect the Wolverines to recruit the tackle position hard in 2017 with so many elite prospects already interested. They will need the depth moving forward.
