2016 DB Lavert Hill Announces Commitment to Michigan Over Michigan State, Penn State

The 2016 defensive back and brother of U-M's Delano Hill is a Wolverine.

Class of 2016 defensive back Lavert Hill (Detroit, Michigan) has committed to Michigan, he announced on Wednesday morning. They beat out the Michigan State Spartans for his services.

Hill's recruitment has been a roller coaster of sorts with the possibility of him pulling the trigger on the Wolverines popping up several times on the trail. The Spartans made it interesting in recent weeks, but Michigan finally has its guy.

He is the brother of Wolverine safety Delano Hill, who ended up making the final push for his services along with Jourdan Lewis.

Hill was offered back in July 2014 by the old coaching staff and has been on campus several times. He transferred from Cass Tech to Detroit Martin Luther King in December and committed to Penn State last January while visiting Happy Valley. He decided to decommit and reopen his recruitment a few months back.

Hill is a four-star prospect and the 12th-ranked cornerback in the class of 2016, according to the 247 Composite.
