Friday Michigan Recruiting Roundup: Eno Benjamin Update and More

After a sensational week leading up to the Spring Game and an even better weekend following the annual scrimmage, the Wolverines are back to hitting the trail in their continued efforts to put together teams in a quest for championship rings.

MnB had the pleasure of speaking with Eno Benjamin (TX) about his recruitment this week. As reported, the 4-star running back would be the 4th at the position in the class of 2017 which seems a bit steep. Benjamin does believe that he would be welcomed at Michigan and utilized as an all-purpose back.

He also is close with five-star and number one outside linebacker Baron Browning which would be a huge get considering the national recruiting battle for him. It would be similar to a Rashan Gary type of win in terms of recruiting. We will know sooner than later on what he decides as Benjamin will make his announcement on April 18th.

The Wolverines played host to a pair of 2018 New Jersey defensive recruits in the form of Jayson and Justin Ademilola. Jayson a defensive lineman and Justin a linebacker spent time with defensive line coach Greg Mattison during the second visit on campus. Ademilola says this about his comfort level to Scout ($):

"I'm trying to find a comfort level with the players and coaches there. I'm just trying to see if I get comfortable enough to sty there the next four or five years when I go off to college."

With them recruiting a bunch of New Jersey guys it definitely makes us feel comfortable. We could go there and feel like we are at home. And with coach (Chris) Partridge being there, we definitely feel comfortable up there."

The Michigan Insider recently sat down with Jaylen Kelly-Powell and discussed his recruiting ($). It looks like it will be a tight race to land the highly coveted safety. He recently spent time in Tallahassee visiting Florida State and will head out to California at the end of May. After the California trip Kelly-Powell will supposedly have all of the information to make his commitment. He is on record as stating his intentions to enroll early. It is also worth noting that he is close with Michigan Safety recruit J'Marrick Woods. The combination of the two is enticing to say the least.

Deontre Thomas also spoke glowingly of his visit during the spring game and how the Wolverines are sitting pretty. You can check that out here.

The number 5 defensive end in the nation, Chase Young listed Michigan in his top 15. Michigan enters another national battle for a high ranking recruit.
