"I'm very interested in Michigan because the people I see that came through there and the people they have now," said Burney, who was offered by Michigan on May 19, 2016. "They stay producing great talents."
At this point in time, the 16th best wide receiver in the Class of 2018 does not have a leader but claims that distance will not matter in his decision-making process.
"Distances doesn't matter," he said. "If the school puts interest in me, I'll put it in them no matter the distance."
Currently, Burney has offers from Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami (FL), Michigan, Pittsburgh, USF, and Wisconsin.
Burney is wishing to visit Michigan in July, but first, he will attend Michigan's satellite camp with USF in Tampa, Florida on June 4, 2016. He is looking forward to meeting some of the coaches, especially the defensive back coach. Depending on the college and what they want, Burney can play wide receiver and defensive back.
He said, "I will commit when I feel the time is right."
