2018 4⭐️ OL Penei Sewell told @MaizenBrew: "I am very interested in Michigan... I will most definitely visit."— Evan Petzold (@EvanPetzold) May 31, 2016
"I am very interested in Michigan," Sewell said. "As everyone probably knows, it's a powerhouse football team and that's what I like about it. As an OL, I like to pound the rock and knock some heads."
The offensive tackle has offers on the table from Michigan, Arizona State, Brigham Young, Hawaii, Nevada, Oklahoma, Southern Utah, Tennessee, UCLA, Utah, Utah State and Washington State.
Many have presumed that Sewell is already favoring UCLA, but the athlete denied those allegations, saying, "I don't focus on the outside things. I just let them think what they want to think. I do me in the classroom and on the field and I let the media think what they want."
Sewell was offered by Michigan on May 2 after being recruited by Drevno, who made a big-time impact on the young star.
"Getting the opportunity to talk to coach Drevno is a blessing," he said. "I was really excited when he wanted to talk to me and the conversation went well. I wasn't nervous or anything. I felt like we knew each other before."
When asked if he would visit Michigan soon, the 2018 recruit said, "I wouldn't say soon, but I will most definitely visit Michigan."
In seven games played during his sophomore year on varsity, Sewell recorded 15 solo tackles and 13 assists for a total of 28 tackles, which is four tackles per game.
Sewell already has it planned that he will "most likely" wait until National Signing Day to make his college decision.
