The big-time tight end spoke to us after checking our Ann Arbor.

Class of 2018 four-star tight end (Missouri City, TX) Mustapha Muhammad was one of the bigger 2018 recruits on campus this weekend, and he loved what he saw in Ann Arbor.

"The visit was awesome." Muhammad said. "I enjoyed every part of it. One of my favorite parts was the view from the top of the Bell Tower. Meeting Coach (Jim) Harbaugh was pretty cool and he is a great coach that I'd love to play for. They are definitely in my top list of schools."

As for what he likes the most about Michigan on the field, he mentioned having the chance to play early and the staff's NFL pedigree.

"They stress to me how much they value and use the tight end position. Which is what I like to hear, because I want to have early playing time opportunities as a true freshman and make big plays early." The Texas native said. "And the fact that a lot of their coaches have NFL experience doesn't hurt at all."

We asked him if there were any current Michigan commits on him the hardest, and he mentioned Michigan's 2017 quarterback commit.

"I talked to Dylan McCaffrey. He's a pretty cool guy and he wants me and Nico Collins [at Michigan] to catch passes from him."

Muhammad does not currently have any 247 Crystal Balls in, but has nearly every big-time program in the country after him, including Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame,  Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas, among others.
