When asked if Michigan would make the top of the list if they were to offer Chatfield, he said, "Yes."
Chatfield has offers to Wisconsin, Bowling Green, Fresno State, Mississippi State, Temple, and USF. The defensive end believes he will get more offers by the end of his junior year. The best game of Chatfield's high school career came against IMG Academy. Chatfield hit the quarterback to force a bad throw, which allowed American Heritage to intercept the ball and take it for a touchdown.
"My strength is speed and I move quick," Chatfield mentioned. "I also can go to outside linebacker and cover."
Chatfield is the 240th overall player in the 2018 class, according to 247Sports. He is the fifth-best weak-side defensive end and the 30th ranked player in the state of Florida.
"I would like to get offers from Michigan, Ohio State, Miami, Florida State, and Alabama," he said. "Michigan has a great defensive line coach and they do not have a lot of defensive end players. Michigan has a great head coach and they know how to run a defense."
