Wolverines ramp up pursuit of three-star LB

Michigan has emerged as a contender for three-star LB Alim McNeill, a 6’3”, 270lb inside linebacker from Raleigh, NC.

The Wolverines initially offered McNeill on February 21st, joining Florida State, Louisville, and Virginia Tech (among others) in the offer column. The potential defensive tackle/end has expressed interest in extending his recruitment all the way to National Signing Day, so it will be a while before any major decisions are made, but the Wolverines have established themselves as contenders, in part due to Harbaugh’s ability to consistently produce NFL-level talent. McNeill hopes to visit Ann Arbor over the summer, but currently only has a visit to South Carolina planned.

Top DT prospect set to return to Ann Arbor

Four-star defensive tackle Tyler Friday (Don Bosco Prep, NJ) is set to return to Ann Arbor in late March after a successful first visit in June of 2016. The second-ranked defensive tackle in the 2018 class has amassed offers from the likes of Alabama, Ohio State, and Penn State thus far, but Michigan’s proven pipeline in the Garden State could make a big difference when the 6’3”, 260lb prospect is ready to commit. Michigan will face competition from Penn State and Ohio State primarily, with Friday attending Penn State’s Junior Day last weekend and planning a visit to Ohio State this spring.
