Welcome to another Wednesday Recruiting Roundup! Exciting developments are unfolding on the recruiting trail, so take a break from cooking, or hide away from your relatives to catch up on the latest recruiting news.
5-star defensive end receives a major Michigan crystal ball
Crystal balls for Michigan have been rolling in throughout November for 5-star Zach Harrison. The percentages now stand at 69 percent Michigan and 31 percent Ohio State. But one just came in yesterday that could convince even the staunchest doubters.
Sam Webb of The Michigan Insider is one of the most connected people to Schembechler Hall. His intel is some of the best in the business. Webb was holding out on placing a crystal ball for Harrison until he saw a “signal” that portended positive things for Michigan. Well, he finally got that information yesterday ($).
“I am now confident enough to project him to Michigan,” Webb said of Harrison. “I think Harrison’s relationships are strongest in Ann Arbor, I think he wants to get away from home a little bit, and I don’t think this is a recruitment where multiple schools would be receiving the same signals in the way they did in Najee Harris.”
The Harris comparison is interesting, particularly because Webb was coy about what the signal he saw that confirmed his decision was. He did, however, bring up how Harris had filled out paperwork to enroll and even received a dorm assignment. Reading between the lines, the thought is Harrison may have started that process at Michigan as well.
Webb said he’d elaborate further about what the signal he saw was, “when Harrison announces his decision in the coming days or weeks.”
Stay on your toes, Michigan fans, the staff could be reeling in the big one any day now.
4-star linebacker target decommits from previous school
In Michigan’s search for another linebacker prospect in the class, they have started putting the pressure on Ohio 4-star Tommy Eichenberg. His recruitment has heated up after a stand-out senior season, netting offers from Michigan and Ohio State.
Due to these developments, Eichenberg decommited from Boston College on Monday, in a simple statement on Twitter.
I have decided to reopen my recruitment. Thank you Boston College for everything.

Now, the consensus opinion is Eichenberg is deciding between the Wolverines and Buckeyes, according to 247Sports’ Bill Greene ($).
Eichenberg recently visited Michigan for the game against Penn State a few weeks ago. He is expected on Ohio State’s campus for The Game this Saturday. After that, he’s planning to take officials to both schools in December and sign in February.
The local Buckeyes have received all of the crystal balls since he received an offer from them, but Michigan has put themselves squarely in this race.
In-state 2020 receiver enjoys another trip to Michigan
3-star wide receiver Ian Stewart has made plenty of trips to Ann Arbor during his recruitment process. His latest trip was a few days ago for the Indiana game. He spoke with TMI’s Brice Marich about his growing relationships with the staff, and where Michigan stands in his recruitment ($).
“The visit was fun. I got there and we ate, then talked with the staff a little. We went on the field for pregame and then headed to our seats,” Stewart said. “I like the entrance when they come out because the atmosphere is crazy.”
Michigan holds 75 percent of the crystal ball selections, and Stewart reflected the fact the Wolverines are in a good position to land the 6-foot-3, 200-pound receiver.
“They stand high,” Stewart said. “I want to continue to build a relationship and go from there.”
Outside wide receiver will be a big position of need for the 2020 class, so getting out ahead with a prospect like Stewart is an excellent start.
That concludes this latest version of the Wednesday Recruiting Roundup. I hope everybody has an enjoyable Thanksgiving with their families, and stuffs themselves appropriately!
