I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving filled with loads of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, and, my personal favorite, Kings Hawaiian rolls (I could go to town on those things all day.)
While you were enjoying your family, food and Thanksgiving Day NFL, you may have missed some of the latest Michigan recruiting news, so let’s get to it.
Michigan offers 2019 in-state DL to play TE
Jimmy H and the Wolverines extended some interesting offers this past week, and one of the more interesting ones was to in-state 3-star defensive lineman Darius Robinson.
The Canton native is 6-foot-6 and 250 pounds and played strong-side defensive end for much of his senior season. However, the Wolverines are recruiting him to play tight end, as reported by 247Sports’ Allen Trieu ($).
Trieu originally had his crystal ball selection on Syracuse, but has now changed it to “foggy,” as he sees the Wolverines and Missouri as the teams to watch for in his recruitment. It is really interesting to see Michigan’s staff offer a player like Robinson so late in the process.
Robinson also holds offers from the aforementioned Syracuse, Michigan State, Maryland, Rutgers, Purdue, Minnesota, Colorado and more.
Purdue or Michigan? That’s the question for this 4-star DE
4-star defensive end George Karlaftis has been highly talked about in the 2019 cycle. He committed to Purdue in Oct. 2017 and has not flipped...yet.
With rumors of Purdue head coach Jeff Brohm bolting to take the Louisville job, much speculation has been put on Karlaftis flipping to Michigan. So will the Wolverines actually snag another top-100 player if Brohm was to leave the Big Ten?
Several Michigan insiders think so, including Sam Webb ($), who said “If Brohm leaves, it’ll take some new intel for me to NOT put in my crystal ball for Michigan shortly after that announcement.”
In an interview with TMI’s Josh Newkirk ($), Karlaftis has been communicating with Brohm, saying, “He has a job to do at Purdue and he’s going to go ahead and win the next few games and make it to a bowl game. And then he said if anything came up he’s going to be honest with me. He’s going to tell me what’s going on. And that’s about it.
“If coach Brohm doesn’t leave, then I’m not leaving.”
Dan Dakich of 1070 The Fan tweeted the Brohm news last week:
Breaking News...Jeff Brohm will be announced as The University of Louisville Head Football Coach on Monday November 26th according to my sources...

The 26th is fast approaching. I suppose we will know more this upcoming Monday, but for now we will have to wait and see how all this plays out.
That’s all for this week! If you made it this far, congratulations on escaping that turkey and gravy coma. We’ll be back Monday for some more recruiting news.
