Massachusetts 3-star Mike Sainristil must have been impressed by Michigan’s beatdown over Penn State.

A day after Michigan’s win, he has committed to Michigan.

This was a long time coming for the Wolverines, as they hosted the former Virginia Tech commit on an official visit back in June. After that visit, the sentiment was Michigan would eventually land the 5-foot-10, 175-pound athlete.

Insiders thought Sainristil could make a decision a couple weeks after his official, but that never came to be. Instead, things quieted down for awhile until Sainristil decommitted from the Hokies and planned a visit to Ann Arbor.

He finally pulled the trigger.

The Don Brown connection was strong here, as Sainristil’s head coach, Theluxon Pierre, played for Brown at UMass.

It’s not clear where Sainristil will line up for the Wolverines. He could be yet another speedy slot devil like George Johnson or Giles Jackson, or be a cornerback. Jim Harbaugh’s strategy with these types of players is to take them and sort out where they’ll play later.

Watch Sainristil’s highlights below to figure out for yourself where you’d like to see him play.
