It didn’t take long for the big win against Penn State yesterday to start paying dividends on the recruiting trail.
In a bit of a surprise, 3-star 2020 running back Tim Baldwin committed to Michigan on Sunday afternoon.

Baldwin made his second visit to campus this weekend, after making a trip with his family in the spring as well. Many didn’t know he’d be even on campus this weekend, making his commitment a happy surprise.
The 5-foot-11, 187-pound running back’s main recruiter was Jay Harbaugh, who has been reeling in some high-profile commits at his position lately. From his commitment post, it looks like meeting Chris Webber was also a highlight.
The Virginia native committed to the Wolverines over offers from Boston College, Syracuse, West Virginia, Maryland and Virginia. He also was receiving heavy interest from Ohio State and Penn State, visiting the latter a couple times.
The junior is ranked 342nd nationally, and the 29th best running back per the 247Sports composite. He is considered a 4-star by 247Sports.
Baldwin is the sixth member of the 2020 recruiting class, which ranks sixth in the country.
This should be the start of an eventful recruiting period for Michigan, with a few more commitments possible in the next couple days.
